my studio - a photo gallery

As most of you know from a previous post, I have a fantastic work space down the street from me that I use as my studio. It's an old mechanic's shop that is wonderfully run down and dirty. Because of my colorful descriptions, many people have requested I share some photos. Today I am here to do just that.

The space is part of a long row of mechanic shops. The management company has plans to tear the building down and build condominiums when the time is right....until them, it's cheap work space. The outside is beautifully decorated with graffiti and the inside has several homey touches I just love :)

Not the big pretty building...that little ugly one underneath it

Oh goodness, it's beautiful

I don't even know how those weeds can get so big

I actually quite like the graffiti

There are also these awesome artworks pasted to the walls.
They are actually some sort of paper.

Got us some Red Sox love....yeah Papelbon

There she is, in all her glory

Allston Auto Electric

The inside of the door....there isn't a doorknob, just a rag.

Yay artwork! Great places all over to prop them up while drying.

Old sketchy fridge. I wasn't brave enough to open it...but my husband did. I think it was empty.

In case you couldn't read that awesome sticker

Where the magic happens...they run out too quickly

My tunes (it's my bedside radio...I have to bring it in every time)

This is on top of the bathroom. I can only guess what's in it. Notice the "Hazardous Materials." HA!

Sign above the bathroom

The glorious commode. I still haven't used it.

I'm pretty sure no one is gonna visit me here now....but it's alright. It will be my own special place.

  3. I like the feel of it! Not sure what word I'd use... um, let's go with eclectic and a side of chic! Both good things for creating your artwork! Which, by the way, I completely love!
