sketch book - take two

I shared with you once before some examples of my meager sketch book and what paintings later came from those sketches. In case you forgot, my "sketch book" is a tiny pocket sized spiral notebook that costs about ten cents at your local office supply.

I especially like this because it is so easy to carry around and you can jot something down if it comes to you unexpectedly. I haven't been doing this lately and can really feel a difference in my ability to come up with good ideas when I'm actually painting. I just stand there and look around me. See a lamp and all I can think about is painting lamps. That just doesn't hack it. I need to find me another baby spiral, don't you agree?

So here are some more examples of my sketch book and related paintings!
