My husband and I showed up after two long flights in Brussels, Belgium ready to find our new home. An extremely short train ride later, we stepped onto the doorstep of Leuven. And, can I just say, what a gorgeous city!
To be honest, it has been a lot of work to get comfortable here. Actually, I don't think we are comfortable quite yet. But I do believe we are on the way there, and that soon we could even call this place a home. Just in time for us to move to The Netherlands!
As with all moves, internet has been interesting to figure out. Because of that, I am delaying my sharing of photos and video of our new home. Turns out, the school we are hooked up with only allows an extremely small amount of uploading per month, per user. That will be something to figure out as the weeks go buy.
Through the trials of getting settled in, I have sold two paintings though. Yahoo! Also, I have finally found a little bit of time to get into reading other people's blogs again. I was feeling pretty awful for not being in the so-called "blogging community" like I so enjoy.
My husband starts school in about a week, and then I am free to Dirksen Dabble to my heart's content. So, look out! Here I come.
And because a blog post would be horrid without a photo of me in Belgium....

I'm pretty serious...everything is cool here. Even silly walls like the one above. Can't wait to show you more!

Didi you ever see the "Systemic Lanscapes" exhibit by Maya Lin she did some interesting things with maps. It was an amazing show, I saw it in San Diego but it traveled around last year.
Here is a link to a blog about it not great photos but it gives you an idea. It was definitely one of the best sculptural shows I have ever seen

I'm glad the move went well, after all the hassle to start. I know the feeling of not being about to wait until your partner goes to school so you can get to work. Haha. I can't wait to see what Belgium inspires you to create.
