One of my favorite thing to do with our wonderful photos is to turn them into paintings, or now drawings :) This is all fine and good, until you have 2,000 to choose from! So, I am asking for your help. Which of these photos do you think I should turn into a painting first?
1. Flower from Botanical Garden in Leuven
3. Beach in Heist, Belgium
4. Old surveillance sign near our home
5. Old door near our home
6. Brick wall and birch tree at an abbey in Leuven
7. Ivy covered building in Mechelen, Belgium
8. Our shadows on a rainy/sunny day
9. Blue flower & bumble bee, Botanical Garden
Unfortunately I had to lower the quality of these photos to upload them. You should see them in all their high resolution glory! Can't wait to see which you pick :)

those are all great photos! i love the colors in photo 7, that is amazing! i also think painting a windmill would work well with your style and technique as well. something about 5, with the bricks and the door is really striking to me. and i think it would be adorable if you did your shadows, since you guys are cute. but they are all great options. so really, i'm not sure i helped!
ReplyDeletei like the focus point in the first one but that second photo grabs my eye for it's simple beauty. love seeing your photos, it's so hard to narrow them down as they're all beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, Bethany, they are all truly gorgeous.
ReplyDelete(I know, that's not very helpful!)
I must say I can really see photographs 2 and 3 working with your style, but I do hope you will paint all of them eventually!
I vote for #7, the ivy covered building. Of course I am partial to your red paintings.
ReplyDeleteI would also vote for #2, the windmill.

The shadow photograph and the old door are very intriguing. I think you might have fun playing with layers of watercolors on those two.
ReplyDeleteI love no. 1, 3 and 5! Their great photos, I hope they come of good use to you :)
ReplyDeleteOh man! These are artworks in and of themselves!!!! So lovely. I had a hard time choosing ONE...I can only imagine the hard time you have with thousands!?!? I do believe the ivy covered building would be divine. Although your shadows would be so lovely in your home...hmmm....cannot wait to see the outcome. Thanks for your sweet comments on my Red Curlz blog.
ReplyDeleteThe Beach one! Would look so pretty and simple. The perfect backdrop for a room!
ReplyDeletePicture 1, 2 or 8!
ReplyDelete1: because of the pretty color. Its bright and gives me a good mood.
2: because it gives me a "fairytale" feeling. Something quiet, something romantic and beautiful.
3: Obviously because its very romantic. It will make you remember the awesome trip in Europe.
