adelaide

Babies!

Yeah, I know, everybody's having them.  No big deal.

But...come on...look at this face.

three month birthday

Adelaide Carolyn Dirksen was born at 9:00 am on January 12, 2012...the day after her due date, at a whopping 9lbs 8oz.

She was born at the UCLA hospital my husband works at and I was fortunate enough to give birth under the care of their midwife staff.  LOVE THEM!  I chickened out and got an epidural for the last four hours of my labor, but it wasn't a super strong one...still felt most of it :)

Adelaide was a little traumatized after birth and had to spend 36 hours in the NICU of the hospital.  She looked a little sad...

It's hard for me to even remember her in this state because I barely was able to see her during that day and a half.  It's harder looking back at it now than it was during the whole ordeal!

Even with all the complications, we were able to go home after a two day stay at the hospital.

Chillin' at home...notice the Dirksen Dabbles originals in the background!
Since then, I have been a full time stay-at-home mom and we've been trying to figure out this new life together.

This is the Saturday morning lounge session

Expect to see more of my patootie along the way (within reason...this shall not become another mommy blog)!
