the rules

Okay folks, let's get some things straight.  

Blogging is a magical thing.  It's a way for little ole people like myself to share thoughts that may or may not be interesting to the general public.  It's a way for community to be made across the globe.  It's a way for creativity and fun to be brought to light.  

Blogging is also a pain in the patootie.  Do you know how much time and effort go into thinking of post ideas, writing engaging content, and setting a beautiful scene for readers to enjoy?  If you have a blog yourself, than yes, you understand.  It's a lot.  

For the past few years, I have been lucky enough to have time on my side.  I was able to fairly easily juggle blogging with a full time job and massive amounts of travel throughout the USA and Europe.  But life has changed.  I now stay in my home most of the time, but have less time than ever.  Enter: 4 month old baby.

This is me, in my home...the kitchen to be exact (and about 8 months in this shot)

So...let's set some Dirksen Dabbles ground rules:

Rule 1 - 

I, as the author and creator of Dirksen Dabbles, will make a commitment to write thoughtful and engaging blog posts as a way to interact with friends and fellow artist.

Rule 2 - 

You, as follower of Dirksen Dabbles, will love the content of this blog with all your heart and soul, and always want more and more thoughtful and engaging blog posts...but will always be amazed each time I am able to eek one out and never give up on me when it seems I don't write often enough.

Now we do a virtual hand shake....and we are agreed.  

You guys are the best.
