This blog has been created so I can share the knowledge, experiences, trials, and ideas I have gained through my journey from amateur to professional artist. In 2007 I graduated from George Fox University with an Interior Design degree as my aid. I have been fortunate enough to find employment in the field as a deisgn consultant since that time, but have also yearned for more creative outlets.
Painting is an art form I discovered during my time in college and continued to remain a positive place for me to release my pent up creative juices. I used it to fill my personal living space with color and beauty. With only one formal class as my training, I assumed painting would always remain a casual hobby.
In October of 2009 I made the first steps to professional artist by listing my artwork for sale online in my own shop on Etsy.com. Without much planning or thought before these first steps, I created a journey that holds continual learning as a vital ingredient.
My personal goals:1. Sustain a business selling my artwork that brings in $500 a month in profit
2. Write a blog that has 1000 followers
3. Become more aware of the artistic and creative world as a whole
My goals for this blog:1. Give practical, creative, and inspirational advice to those people hoping to bring their art forms to the professional arena
2. Share insights into the world of creativity and art for those people that do not find themselves to be creative
3. Have 1000 individuals join me as I journey through creativity, business, and life interests
